Thomas InselThe indictment says they did it to distract from stealing what would have been at most several hundred dollars from a cash register.
If they stuck with the burglary, there probably wouldn't have even been an investigation beyond a police report. But this turned into a real FBI investigation and Federal firearms charges.
So are these two just much dumber than usual, or is there something else going on?

Greg Wellman@w7voa Not shooting according to the indictment. They (broke in and) entered the facilities and physically manipulated switches. Unless the manipulation was by close range shotgun, and it didn't sound like that.
