I wish more phone makers were putting this much effort into making their devices work better as _phones._ Every time I need customer service, I'm glad I have a Pixel.
@ihnatko maybe I really ought to give Android, in particular the Pixel, a chance.

@DevilTy @ihnatko
I use a Pixel 6A, and it's a very good combination of perfect (for me) size, very good photography, good battery life and - most important - constant improvement. Every month they push out new updates.

For instance, the most recent update added the ability to live translate any media I can play back, so I can play a video in Japanese, and it will create English subtitles.

And I paid $350 for it.

@gaffa @ihnatko very cool! I’ve had iPhones for the past 6 or 7 years and it’s hard to get out (or at least partly outside) of the ecosystem. That sounds like a good price for what you get.

@DevilTy @ihnatko

It's a very inexpensive way to explore the Android ecosystem, with a piece of hardware that represents it very well, and Is the purest example of what Google is trying to do. I love the fact that it gets upgraded with new features every single month.

@DevilTy @gaffa Honestly, I think the Pixel 7 and Pixel 6A represent the greatest value anywhere.
@ihnatko @gaffa Definitely will look more closely at the Pixel line. I think my Apple Watch is the major obstacle for me.
@DevilTy @ihnatko @gaffa there’s so much choice out there for Android at all price points. Value, inclusivity, choice, diversity - it’s great. I know what you mean about the challenges of leaving the Apple ecosystem. They make great products without a doubt, but when you consider that the lock-in is by design, it makes you feel a bit icky.
