Has a woman ever played in the NHL?

Trailblazer and goalie Manon Rheaume was the first woman to play in an NHL game for the Tampa Bay Lightning.  I've often wondered if this was a publicity stunt by the brand new expansion team, and did not like that she never started a regular season game.

Regardless, she is a pioneer for womens rights in sports and widely respected as such.  She was also a very talented net minder whom, I've always respected.  She is currently also a great commentator in the sport.  Read her story below.

Every few years, Manon Rheaume gets asked about Nov. 26, 1991, the night she made hockey history.

Glad you got the chance to see her play. A lot of folks south of the border are really unaware if her skill and accomplishments.
