Today is my last day moonlighting for Cabot Creamery Co-op (I ran @[email protected] Twitter for the last 10 years! among other digital asset management and social media projects). It feels like the end of an era.
I started there as an 'intern' 16 years ago, worked full time during the summers while in college & grad school. New leadership wants to move all the tasks I did in-office, so my part-time status ends today. I've loved working for the farmers, and I will miss having this gig.
I got to be co-lead on a major marketing/voter reg campaign (The Great American Voter Trek of 2008), worked Open Farm Sundays, keyworded thousands of farm/product/project photos, built boxes in fulfillment, responded to tweets, created pins for Pinterest, and learned abt SEO
I authored a blog posts on weekly meal prep, how to make sugar on snow, and my favorite things about VT. I sampled SO MUCH CHEESE and looked forward to the yearly bonus: a box of Cabot products. I made some dear friends, & got at least 1 friend a job that he's grown into!
I've never not had at least two jobs since I graduate high school. Which is kind of nutty, because I am a TT assistant professor, and have been for the last 6 years. It's been a side hustle/safety net/security blanket. I would have prob worked there forever.
I'll miss my 35% discount at the Cabot store. And irregular check-ins with the social media team. And sending randos coupons on Twitter because they said something funny or sweet. It's always hard to say goodbye. Thanks, Cabot farmers, for everything. 🐄💕
