Mr Spock 🖖I will continue to hold doors open for people even if they don’t thank me. I will continue to stand in line patiently at the supermarket when the store refuses to pay for more staff and thank the cashier. I will still smile at a stranger even if they think I’m weird. Because everyday we do not know what people are going through. Maybe they are in a terrible relationship and are being treated cruelly.

I will also continue to do those things, but I sometimes do not even try and think of another’s possible suffering. I do those things because that is what and who I am. My imagination can create horrible stories to try to explain or rationalize other’s behavior, and then it is a slippery slope into darkness.
