already using Pocket Reform as my benchtop computer at work
@mntmn can’t wait for the release of this, so excited to have a personal computer to slip in a bag alongside my work computer when I travel. Thank you so much for all the hard work going into this!
@mntmn I am 100% in love with this concept
@mntmn Searching around, I don’t see anything about pricing. Will there be assembled units for sale or is Pocket Reform strictly DIY?
@mkb it will be preassembled only at first, and launched here https://www.crowdsupply.com/mnt/pocket-reform

@mntmn Thanks! Has pricing been decided yet?
@mntmn <3 awwwwwwww, STAHP
@mntmn It looks so amazing. Is it possible to order one?
@rtn thank you! crowdfunding will start soon here: https://www.crowdsupply.com/mnt/pocket-reform

@mntmn
It looks great! How comfortable is typing on the ortholinear keyboard? I have an eeepc 701 and it's pretty cramped. Though switching to colemak helped for me with that machine.
@mntmn since it has a WWAN card, would you use it to replace a mobile phone as well?
@mntmn does the pocket also use 18650 cells?
@krolden nope, they wouldn't fit

@mntmn what did you end up going with? I like that the reform went with replaceable cells, and theres plenty of 18650s in the world not being used, but they add a lot of depth to the chassis.

Hopefully I'll have the cash to get in on the crowdfunding for the pocket. It would really be a great device to have.

@krolden 2x LiIon pouches with a common size and JST PH connectors
@mntmn very cute😍 by the way, how is the stdp doing?
@de well, was grinding on it today. made a tiny bit of progress: figured out i need to respin the board.
@mntmn oops, what happened?
@de hdmi-a pinout on hdmi-d footprint :( i did wire up hpd and ddc manually though and they do something sane-ish. but edid is all 0xff and one 0x03. there's a short 1mhz burst on aux. also i routed lane 2 instead of 0 (pad naming confusion for hdmi and dp output options). and i didn't route out some pads like config1+2 as they're undocumented, but they might be important.
@de also, the host control i2c is dead. doesn't respond to any address. maybe i nuked it during first experiments.
@de still thinking to try to read the whole memory via your radare gprobe plugin and try to find the debug registers in there somewhere. the windows tool is just too clunky.
@mntmn the plugin should be helpful for this. I hope there was no bitrot. There was probably not that much usage since 2019.
@mntmn ok, that makes sense. Do you have an AUX channel analyzer? Really helpful for this kind of issue. But maybe it simply works after the respin. I guess the link training will fail with swapped lanes.
@mntmn I have used this one: https://www.unigraf.fi/product/dpa-400-displayport-aux-channel-monitor. I also wrote a Wireshark decoder that is mainline, but I can't remember how far I got. This also sounds interesting: https://github.com/Alex-the-Smart/DPAUXAnalyzer

@mntmn ah, found this: https://github.com/Guntermann-Drunck/dpa400dump and this: https://www.wireshark.org/docs/dfref/d/dpaux.html Too bad I don't have access to the VESA specs anymore these days...

@mntmn is that a glossy or matt screen?
@crypt17 glossy
@mntmn a bit sad they tend to drive me nuts with reflections
@mntmn Have u actually decided what color you will use for the coating? Most pictures show lavender but at HiP and in ur current picture you are using a black coating.
@pandora there will be two options: black and purple
@mntmn
I would probably get it in any color for the form factor alone (and since it is a reform) -- but purple is just a perfect choice! :D
@pandora
@hanno @mntmn I would love to see a real world sample of the purple one. I feel I can’t decided otherwise 😂
