Great graphic! Thanks. I saw a comment on a boost that meteorologists should report that we'd “broken” the polar vortex. Would you put it that strongly yet?

@Cichock it would be interesting to see if a similar disruption persistently reappears as a new normal given the extensive warming in Greenland

@dave Yes. Time will tell. If it follows a similar pattern as the recent rapid intensification of hurricanes and cyclones, we will be in trouble. Graphics like yours help.

@dave I was relieved to see some mention of a possible connection between unusual polar vortex and climate change in mainstream media. Took almost a week after the storm but they’re finally addressing it on some stations and n some press
