I've been doing (great!) mentoring sessions all day, and I think today is the first day I outright suggested to somebody they should see a therapist, not just me.
The need to see a mental health professional is not tied to having experienced trauma or having clear "trouble at home" - sometimes it's just the solution because you are having consistent difficulty figuring out your overall life direction and find yourself changing direction aimlessly or procrastinating or feeling unfulfilled no matter what you do. That's not something a mentor like me can necessarily fix. There are complicated underlying causes of stress and anxiety I might not be able to ferret out.
Normalize seeking mental health care.
