Hello everyone! I just switched handles, but I'm still teaching anthropology at Bucknell University, specializing in tourism & food in Bolivia and Antarctica. Plus, I have a zombie film recommendation for everyone, just reply with what genres you like! #introductions #zombies #anthropology
@csammells did you see warm bodies? Just taught it in my monsters class. Just barely beat out Fido for last spot on my syllabus, mostly because of the secondary lit i could pair it with.
@js_rubin Indeed! It's my favorite rom-com zombie film, although Sean of the Dead is great for that too (with more commentary on capitalism to boot). I used it in class on the assumption that students would be largely familiar with Romeo and Juliet (although that wasn't always the case).

@csammells mine picked up on the Romeo and Juliet aspects. I was super impressed!

Shawn of the Dead also great for teaching the Euro migrant crisis. Was high on my list too, but it was a class on all monsters, not just zombies (unfortunately).

@js_rubin All Monsters are good! Children of Men is another good one for migrant crises (although there are no monsters other than human ones).
@csammells The humans are always the real monsters!
