Amazing that Linux has 3 billion users on mobile, encompassing near 100% of the installed base in some countries, as well as almost 100% market share in the server space, and yet desktop penetration is barely above 2%.

There might be an opportunity there?

@rodolfor I always find that a bit confusing. People didn't really choose Linux, they just bought an Android phone. It's not like choosing an OS on a PC. There aren't really any choices to be made.
Same is true for Chrome btw. It comes preinstalled with most phones. Remove those users from the chart and the browser distribution will look massively different.
@rodolfor - I’ve been designing app GUIs for almost 40 years. The worst ones I’ve encountered have always been the ones that had become fragmented or had no central vision to start with. Design-by-committee kinda thing. Trying different Linux GUIs over the years, that’s what they all felt like - ie not enough centralized control. No equivalent to Linus on the kernel side.
