Moving to Sydney next month but still working for Google in mostly the same role.
The Silicon Valley I'm leaving in 2023 is a very different place to the one I moved to in 2010.
Will be an interesting experiment in seeing what gets better and what gets worse having a little distance and timezone shift.
@shanehuntley Former employer was predominantly located in the US & UK, so the small team (by comparison) we had in Australia was often making sacrifices when trying to line up meetings. UK in particular is a hard one.
Best we could come up with was alternating times. This week, AU team meets at 9pm, next week it’s UK’s turn.
Not a major issue, but one that can’t realistically be solved.
