Was watching hockey until I started watching some videos on Cities: Skylines during the intermission and ended up more interested in that than watching my team being bombarded by a far better team.

As a huge SimCity 2000 fan (shoutouts to @sc2000bot btw), I have to admit that while I've been very interested in playing some modern city builders, I've just never made the jump to try them. I did dip my toe into the more recent 3D SimCity game that ended up causing a huge uproar over being always online among other issues.

I started watching this intro to beginners series on Cities: Skylines and it was interesting enough to get my wife to sit down and watch it with me. It definitely feels inspired by SimCity's ideas and functionality - even having the same Residential/Commercial/Industrial demand meter. Hell, I already own the game already thanks to some Humble Bundle, so I'm going to give it a try soon.

Might also be fun to have a SimCity 2000: Network Edition server set up with other people that might be interested in playing. Let me know. For those unaware of SimCity 2000 Network Edition, you can get an idea of it by watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEbL7BmDw_U

@jay I love Cities:Skylines. I have all but the very newest DLC. I can lose hours in it. I also have SC4 plus a ton of mods but I'm waiting on a better system to really play SC4 & C:S.

I believe they were inspired by SimCity, but it took off the way it did bc of SC2013's issues. It's more oriented to transit issues with more options for transit even before they added airports.

@tlwright Interesting, I really appreciate your insights into it.
