Powerful Lake Erie wave photos show the wilder side of our Great Lake

Metro Detroiters might think the waves on Lake Erie small and relatively unnoteworthy. On windy days, choppy waters draw the occasional surfer or send splashes crashing over a breakwall. But generally, our Great Lake is regarded as a flat, placid neighbor.

@marktheasctic @taz what is interesting is Hokusai painting depicts the waves in the Sea that surround Japan and the real wave shown in the photo is in a lake (a big lake, but nevertheless a lake)
