These evictions of encampments with the destruction of personal property are cruel, don't address much less solve the problem of homelessness, and must stop.

The City of Minneapolis plans to attack the Quarry encampment in Northeast Minneapolis on Wed 28 Dec.

Attached: 1 image This Wednesday in Northeast Minneapolis. When we have more good people than cops show up, the city backs off from their enforcement of the structural violence of capitalism.
@SoNotNic many individuals with support from Communities United Against Police Brutality are holding a news conference speaking out against the planned encampment destruction now
The National Lawyers Guild hotline will be active during this attack: 612-444-2654
People are routinely arrested even when not standing in defense (but only trying to help) so everyone should have this number written down and with them.
During events where people will be known to be at risk, NLG coordinates with Minnesota Freedom Fund when there are arrests.
The MFF has its own number, 612-217-4442, if people need bail funds the MFF number should be called directly.
But when there are arrests during NLG-monitored events the hotline 612-444-2654 can be used first.
Put some of this information about the city's impending attack TODAY on one web page you can share anywhere:
The City of Minneapolis announced an eviction date for the last major encampment not already forced off city-owned, unused public land. It is tomorrow, Wednesday, December 28th. People living at the Quarry encampment have called for defense, and the wider community has responded. (The Twin Cities Workers Defense Alliance is posting this event listing to provide publicly-available information about the defense, but is not coordinating it in any fashion.)
Including a link to officials responsible for this that you can begin to call now:

Even better numbers to call currently pinned at the top here:

Occasional MPD police cars, number 210 hanging around especially.
And #Minneapolis public works trucks.
And now a fire truck.
But nowhere near the numbers the city comes in with when attacking an encampment full force.
A couple Hennepin County sheriffs squads were around too.
Might be coincidence, but the coordination capabilities of various agencies and governments are impeccable when it comes to repression, but it is impossible for them to provide housing.
At 9:30am, a Biffs portapotties truck came to take away the portable toilet servicing the camp.
The workers saw the strong presence of defenders and left almost immediately.
UOI is hired goons for commercial real estate managers. Mr. Daily then spoke to sketchy alleged reporters who declined to identify themselves and are believed to be affiliated with far-right propaganda outlet Alpha News.

Correction, Paul Daily is the President (not CEO) of commercial real estate management outsourcer United Operations, Inc.
He can be reached at [email protected] or 763-551-0606
He is just one more small player in the structuring of society to harm rather than uplift, but his personal dedication to slandering unhoused people is notable.
Other hired goons were skulking around the Quarry camp today, 10-Code LLC, sketchy even by the standards of private security, feature a particularly fashy take on the Thin Blue Line flag on their about page, 10codellc.com/about
They were part of the apparatus of repression at #StandingRock, and are owned by a retired Bismarck North Dakota police chief.
They appear to be working for Cub grocery.
Humanity vs fascist forces may sound hyperbolic but 10-Code sneaking around the Quarry encampment is merely yet another linking of the repression facing people resisting the environmental destruction of capitalism and people trying to survive the economic devastation of capitalism.
Listen also to the fascist purge language used in why unhoused people should not be allowed to exist and rationalizing the use of force to make that happen (rather than, say, providing housing).
But that is very much "for now"ā we need people continually showing up to keep the city's forces at bay.
And we need more people able to collect everything that is happening and make it easy for reporters to pick up on it.
We have received confirmation that the encampment defense tipline, (612) 712-9191 (text or Signal) and [email protected] is operational.
Get this to everyone who works for or with the city!
More on what we can all do to defend encampments:
Attached: 4 images What does "make a plan" to defend a camp from eviction mean? In the context of an immediate eviction defense, things people have done in the past include: --creating physical barricades --having vehicles and moving supplies ready to help people move if needed --various tactics for stalling pigs to give people move time to pack --climbing on or sabotaging heavy equipment --attacking eviction forces before they attack our neighbors --among lots of other ideas for various levels of risk More broadly though, here are some things you can do to help defend neighbors from camp sweeps whether you're 1 person, 5, or 20 or more:
Conflict Resolution Group (CRG) security members have assaulted, detained, threatened, and surveilled community members while providing armed patrols in Uptown Minneapolis. āItās an evolution in repressive tactics,ā says Michelle Gross, President of Communities United Against Police Brutality.
A tiny thing we can all do now is give financial support to those displaced, the admins at the Quarry Open Collective opened a project for post eviction support:
https://opencollective.com/quarry-community-mutual-aid/projects/post-eviction-support
Longer term, it is this, it is always this:
https://kolektiva.social/@riotmuffin@ni.hil.ist/109569226770626859
And the already large and impressive collection of people practicing mutual aid and mutual defense around unhoused people, needs to extend to housed people facing eviction, needs more people getting the word out and building mutual defense networks.
