Since Mastodon is connecting me to new folks, I'd love to hear from online community, moderation, trust, and safety pros and volunteers that:

- Have not been on a podcast and perhaps even doubt they deserve to be on one!
- Have less than 250 Mastodon followers.
- Are doing the work of building online communities and platforms.

For consideration of being a guest on @communitysignal! Please read the full thread. Thank you!

For many, we've been their first podcast. I love that.

That said, the audience I focus on is experienced folks. I want to keep experienced community builders as listeners. So, I put all guests through a process to find the 1-5 topics that will make a show.

I've had multiple cases where someone I wanted to chat with told me that they didn't think they deserved to be on. My answer is always the same: Let me take that burden away from you. Go through the process. It's my show. I'll be the judge.

Important caveats:

- Not super psyched about crypto, NFTs, or breathless web3 hype, so not looking to glorify any of that. Sorry.
- If AI is a focus for you, please be ready to explain why your work is ethical and responsible.
- Please don't suggest others, only yourself. If you'd like to connect the opportunity to others, a boost is appreciated. 🙂

Beyond that, *please DM me or email me at [email protected]*! No pressure on either of us. 🙂 Thanks.

I wish this described me 😞

@patrickokeefe @communitysignal [raises hand] I design collaborative moderation and curation technologies for users.

Systems matter, so I want to prudent about which systems we deploy, when, with who, and how we set defaults.

There are probably a lot of discussions I should be having with your community, I can think of two huge community development/growth questions off the top of my head that I really need to figure out answers to.
