•MelG•>What's the deal about Trikes (adult tricycles)? Are they too wide for regular bike lanes? I saw some in Florida but nowhere else... not even photos. Sort of like never seeing recumbents (sp?). #Trikes
Sam Levine@melgreer Nah, just less availability I think. They aren't any wider than a 2-kid trailer and those fit in a bike lane fine. I also see recumbents (moreso when I lived in PDX than SoCal, but I do still see them occasionally). If three wheels would make you ditch the car when two wheels wouldn't I'd say go for it. If you get a recubent type do make sure you have a flag though. 🚲
@SRLevine Thanks for the info. I got rid of my four-wheeler (car) this past year and I’m reconsidering getting a more manual/leisurely means of transportation. I might even trade in my old Cannondale since I’m looking for something fairly stable. It has been a while.😎 Yeah, I would think a long flag would be a must just to make yourself more visible.
