Ford: we have thought of that

@hammancheez @owasow I can believe that. Inattentiveness and complacency of a "Tesla driver" is rapidly becoming the automotive equivalent of "Florida Man".
Which begs the question: how much is this due to the software and degraded sensor package (now only optical), and how much is users insistence on using self-driving features when they shouldn't?
Perhaps this is all part of his longtermist eugenics - literally drive a large part of the population off a cliff one day?
Dear [email protected] please get these fucking things off the road, thanks.
I have to think that both Twitter and Tesla are doomed. Musk's narcissism will prevent the development of quality because he fires anyone who offends his narcissism, meaning anyone who contradicts him. He also lies, which transportation regulators are going to latch onto at some point.
Oh, and sales are dropping because progressive-minded people are rejecting his politics, and he is inextricably linked to Teslas.
@owasow too bad so many investors and Tesla owners failed to realize #ElonMuskIsATurd is a con artist and a proven repeat offender liar.
@owasow Tesla's buyers/users may be part of the problem, but it's also in how the feature is described and marketed.
GM and Ford have "driver assistance".
Teslas have "autopilot".
Those terms do *not* mean the same thing to a reasonable (but nontechnical) person, and many people totally think that Tesla's Autopilot is different and inherently more capable, because it's marketed so much less cautiously. Even the UI contributes.
Just the term 'Autopilot' writes a check #Tesla can't cash.
