Hello everyone! I just switched handles, but I'm still teaching anthropology at Bucknell University, specializing in tourism & food in Bolivia and Antarctica. Plus, I have a zombie film recommendation for everyone, just reply with what genres you like! #introductions #zombies #anthropology
@csammells: queer rom zom com? #zombies
@gratefulwolf Thanks for this challenge! I will admit this is a difficult one, in part because zombie films are often up to their ears in toxic masculinity. But let me offer a few options.
@gratefulwolf I haven't seen the 2013 All Cheerleaders Die (even an expert doesn't have time to see everything out there) but it does appear to involve a lesbian romance?
@gratefulwolf Fido involves a romance between the living and dead (much like Warm Bodies) but is it hetero, so I guess one could debate whether that is "queer."
@gratefulwolf I believe that one of the main characters in Wyrmwood is a lesbian, but the fact that I'm unsure of this now suggests it's not central to the plot. :-) Plus, not a rom-com.

@gratefulwolf But now I will be on the lookout! Thank you!

If you are willing to accept hetero rom-coms instead, I would recommend Sean of the Dead and Warm Bodies.

@gratefulwolf There was a 1970s film that involved a polyamorous throuple -- I'm looking for the name. But that wasn't a rom-com; their queerness was a foil to justify the usual outcomes in such films.
