"Santos acknowledged... financial difficulties had left him owing thousands to landlords and creditors. But he failed to fully explain... how his fortunes reversed so significantly that, by 2022, he was able to lend 700K to his congressional campaign"

Rep.-elect George Santos acknowledges ‘résumé embellishment’ but answers little on finances

In interviews, the Long Island Republican acknowledged that he never graduated from college and didn't work for Wall Street firms, but he answered few questions about his wealth.

The Washington Post
@juddlegum "failed to explain". That's hilarious on its own.
@juddlegum candidates for office really should have to disclose more about their finances

@juddlegum

Florida is all mobbed up!

@juddlegum Apparently, it was the Democrats job to vet both Democratic and Republican candidates. An unwritten rule of some sort.

@juddlegum

Patient in operating room, looking up at the surgeon.

"Doctor, did you really go to Harvard Med?"

Doctor, annoyed.

"Who doesn't embellish their resume?"
"Nurse"
"Scalpel"

@capemaydave @juddlegum Look, I played an operation computer game in the 1980's! That's just as good as being a licensed doctor, right?

(I'm joking, but I really did play this game. I was horrible. I ordered every test no matter what the symptoms & then carted the person into surgery. Half the time I'd begin operating w/o anesthesia. Others, I'd make a "creative incision" that resulted in my digital patient bleeding to death. Based on this game, nobody should ever allow me to be a doctor.)

@juddlegum I wish I could just have money "mysteriously" come to me. Of course I'm not a right-wing conman.
@juddlegum where did the money come from? Is he a Russian spy who infiltrated our election process?

@juddlegum money laundering and bribery, plain and simple.

If you suddenly gain $700k the IRS usually wants to know where it came from.

If you "loan" your campaign $700k, laws actually prevent anyone from knowing the source.

Then the campaign "pays it back."

Where did the money come from? It was a repaid debt. Where did the campaign get the money? You're not allowed to know.

How did Boebert's failed bankrupt restaurant turn into $44 mill in assets in 2 years on her salary?

@juddlegum Elsie-sponsored dark money, no doubt.
@juddlegum What is the word "fully" doing there? I don't see any explanation at all.

@juddlegum Ill give you a hint, Google "Andreas Patsis" he is involved in a scandal. tl-tr: he bought defaulted loans from banks. He then chased this dept via his dept collectors.

Link bellow takes you to a site where politicians declare their finances before being joining the Greek parliament. Look at the deposits jump. https://pothenesxes.vouliwatch.gr/patsis-andreas?year=2020

Politicians everywhere want to be elected, not because they want to make change but monies.

@juddlegum a con artist won and election who happens to be a republican. Sounds familiar
@juddlegum why hasn’t he been forced to step down? This is crazy. He lied about everything. I doubt if he really was born at this point.
@juddlegum would anyone be surprised if his debts were paid just like justices Kavanaugh’s ?
@juddlegum Wasn't 2020 the year of everyone's economic renaissance?
@juddlegum Maybe Santos got funds from the same source that paid off Kavanaugh loans/mortgage?
