– We should make cities less car dependent

– But what about disabled people!?!?!

Disabled people:

#FuckCars #Urbanism #BikeFedi

@forteller no complaints about the lack of a flag for visibility? How will drivers possibly not hit that person? They should get on the sidewalk... (Healthy dose of sarcasm but not far off the mark for drivers in my community).
@forteller Not all disabled people can drive and/or afford a car
@forteller There are also disabled people who have narcolepsy, epilepsy, etc and need to bike for their safety and others' safety. They need bike lanes that won't let them spill into traffic wherever possible as well
@forteller #CompleteStreets and #UniversalDesign are critical here, but really slow going getting any attention or implementation.
@forteller I have seen something like this before in my neighborhood. Not that it lacks sidewalk but sometimes there is some obstruction mostly trash can or sofa
@forteller
Another person who can't drive because of my neurological disabilities but would really benefit from bike-friendly infrastructure.

@forteller some* disabled people.

I support the spirit of this post as long as we also listen to those that tell us they do rely on cars for essential mobility! (And either way, let's get non-disabled people's cars out of their way.)

@forteller we should make cities less pedestrian unfriendly so people using assistive devices don't have to walk/drive in the road...says the woman with the cane.
