Happy Christmas everyone!

If anyone has recently (or not so recently) travelled from the UK to Australia, please let me know.

I'm doing that very trip soon and need to pick an experienced person's brain.

@gramage went a couple of years ago. I recommend having a few days stopover in somewhere like Singapore. Otherwise the travel gets a bit frustrating.
You may need to get a visa before you go https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/australia/entry-requirements
Check with your credit card if you can make fee-free foreign transactions (Barclaycard is good).
Happy to provide more tips.

@Edent Thanks!

Trip is already booked. I'm going via Frankfurt and Singapore, with about 13 hours in Singapore until next flight. I'd like to visit Jewel Changi but I'm unsure if I need an entry visa as it's landside.

I've got an eVisitor visa for Australia. :)

Did you have to recheck your luggage en route or did it just get sent on to your destination? I'm flying with Lufthansa/Singapore Airlines and then Jetstar for the Singapore to Melbourne leg.

@gramage if it is all booked as one ticket, your luggage should be checked through to the final destination. If not, you'll need to collect and recheck it.
13 hours is a bit tight once you take into account deplaning, immigration, and checking in - but you might be able to squeeze in a quick bit of sightseeing.
Happy travels!

@Edent Yeah, it was all booked as one, so hoping I don't need to recheck.

Thanks! I'm sure it'll be an adventure, whatever happens. :)
