In my family, it is customary to open up an extremely corroded retro computer on Christmas Eve. We have been blessed with this excitingly crusty Apple III on this year. #retrocomputing #apple2 #apple3 #corrosion
@leadedsolder Is that... Mould?
@kalleboo It very well could be. The previous owner told me that he thinks it had mouse pee in it, so it's going to get a little bit of UV before the board gets washed.
@leadedsolder Oh wow, an honest-to-god trash2treasaure
@kalleboo My previous grossest machine was an #X68000 PRO that had been smoked in, then flooded in, then had a bug infestation, then seemed to be involved in a mudslide. I'm still working on the bodywork, but the computer seems to be working. https://www.leadedsolder.com/2022/01/25/x68000-dirty-pro-part-1-case-repair.html
Call In The PROs When It Gets Dirty (X68000 PRO Part 1)

What happens when you bid on a Sharp X68000 PRO without looking too closely at the photos? For one thing, you win the auction. What also happens is that the computer spends a while in your garage, waiting for all of its little tenants to be vacuumed out.
