Letting the people who say "I'm going to quit using your software if you don't add the feature I want" drive your planning is effectively putting the hackernews comments section in charge of your product roadmap.
The part I'm really digging about Today's Meta is how Twitter was dragged kicking and screaming into becoming a social network by its own users, never had anything you could call a coherent vision for what twitter even was and eventually devolved into the thing we now call the hellbird, and people are seriously in here saying "I want mastodon to be just like what I had over there."
