Canadians are so damn nice. Everyone here in #PortMoody keeps apologizing to us newbies for the “unusual” heavy snowfall. It’s pretty massive, and it is very unusual, but I’m loving every minute. Here’s a partial view from our living room.

@essjaykeys I lucked out with genes. My dad, who was a dr., was an award-winning amateur photographer, did all his own printing, everything. I grew up in a darkroom. He got his stuff into Nat. Geographic calendars, his work was unique and thoughtful. So he taught me a thing or 2 😉 But thank you so much for the very kind words.

Working in a darkroom with analogue photography is a great apprenticeship IMO.

That's why I switched to digital photography.
I just couldn't trust any processing shop to develop and print my photos the way * I wanted them to be *, without paying big bucks.

@essjaykeys I'll never forget watching my dad at the kitchen table using a tiny paintbrush dipped in vegetable dye to touch up the dust spots. He was meticulous. He finally switched to digital in his later years.

Yes, setting up a home darkroom for analogue photography is an expensive business.
