Seeking recommendations/advice:

What way(s) have you found of posting longer-form content that plays well with #Mastodon and the #Fediverse?

I don't want to lose that cool "feel free to interact with this" vibe (sometimes happens when the format of a work draws a line between originator and commenter), I've just got stuff to say that doesn't break neatly into 500-character chunks.

Boosts welcome.

@theruss @ckshowalter well, for one, not all servers are configured the same, which means they have different features.

For example, mine gives 10k characters to play with. :)

Good stuff. That approach sounds like it would check most of the boxes, though I would for sure miss hanging out with @stux and the gang here.

@theruss @ckshowalter @stux I mean, you can still follow them. And, as long as it’s public, you can even go browse the local timeline on other servers. (How easy this is to do depends very much on what app you’re using)

@TindrasGrove @ckshowalter @stux

For sure, but he's also done a really good job of running the server, and I appreciate that a lot.
