I have lived (and died a little inside) vicariously through the posts of others. The closest I ever got was when I was 12 and staying at my best friend’s house just before Christmas, sleeping on the couch trying to breathe because they had the heat up to 90° or something, praying for morning so I could go home to a house not heated to the point that orchids would spontaneously grow.
