I believe in a livable wage for everyone. It baffles me business owners argue with me, and I’ve had many do so, that paying their staff a higher wage will destroy their business. They are always white dudes who fancy themselves clever businessmen.

Until I hit them with, “wait, are you saying you didn’t budget for employee wages that afford them the basics of life? Surely you budgeted for that, right, Jimothy? I thought you understood business?”

It’s a blow to the fragile biz man fee fees.

@godlessmom
I co-own a small accounting and payroll firm and we helped a LOT of clients get covid-relief money from the U.S. government, which was SUPPOSED to go to paying employees and increasing their wages because of covid lockdowns, supply chain backlog increasing inflation, etc.

Very few did. What the owners of the businesses we helped did do was increase their own salary and wages.

It was disgusting. And I’m sure it happened all over the country.

Yipes- this is so egregiously Wrong!

ME had a very minor *loan* just in case bc ME could not work owing to need for surgery, then covid.
But the type ME had was Not included for "Loan-forgiveness" whereas those Huge $$$$$$$$$$ ones were forgiven for repayment.
ME did repay it bc paying interest was stupid for $ ME eventually did not need that $.
BUT why were there differences in the first place for WHO had to repay $ ?

@kahyrn

Kayhryn... first I'm really sorry you had to deal with all that. It sounds like it must have been a really stressful time.

And you're right. It is wrong.
My biz partner is a really strong numbers guy. Like... savant level numbers guy. And even HE had a hard time reading through the constraints, stipulations and regulations.

It was a very complex issue with a lot of variables.

Well Typical of Congressional Legislation!

ME has the background to read/digest that material...but they are like wearing Cement Shoes while Surfing!

Likely as NOT to end Up drowning U in useless Verbiage!
