Yesterday, Elon Musk called former Twitter developer Ian Brown a "jackass" after Ian questioned his plans for a complete Twitter re-write.

The whole conversation was bonkers.

Attached video has the context.

My jaw is on the ground.

If I was trying to write a parody of how out of it and bad at leadership this guy was and if *this* is what I wrote, people would say "ease up... it's not believable"

@futurebird @atomicpoet yep, since about 2015/2016 I’ve been saying if you went back in time 5 years and released a “fictional” story of our present reality, you’d be universally panned as a complete hack of a writer.

So true. No one would think the social construct was in any way credible!

@noonedanger @futurebird @atomicpoet when I was young, I read huge amounts of fiction (mostly SFF, but plenty of other stuff too). But the older I get, the harder it gets, because fiction makes so much more sense than the real world, that it's too difficult to muster enough suspension of disbelief to keep going.

- Ok, worldwide pandemic, that’s good…
- Half the population of earth don’t believe it’s happening? Edit that out, obviously that can’t happen
