From the mainstream media, JK Rowling and co, and of course the Tories, supported by a smattering of Transphobic politicians across the parties and the angry TERF women's bigot squads, right-wing haters and christian crusaders, but the Scottish government stood firm on the legislation and got it passed.

That they did pass the bill reflects mainstream Scotland being a place of tolerance and willingness to embrace diversity.

There are still too many haters, but we are winning, and every day they become an increasingly dwindling lunatic fringe.
