CNBC: abortion laws are affecting students' decisions about where to attend college.

Not mentioned: if access to reproductive health care is important to enough students' decisions, Dobbs (and states' responses to it) will exacerbate existing "red" vs. "blue" state disparities in university-level resources, hasten the demise of the colleges and universities in anti-choice states that are already struggling to meet enrollment targets.

Gen Z is re-thinking college and career plans in post-Roe America: ‘I want to leave the country’

@WeedenKim I’m not surprised at all. I know hospitals in those states have been struggling to recruit new physicians. According to one report, a GYN dept in Alabama was declined by 200 candidates. But it’s affecting all specialities, not just OB-GYN. Too many unknowns. If a pregnant patient gets cancer or becomes brain dead, does a mere discussion with the family about their options make the doctor guilty of a felony? Who wants to risk their career by even testing those waters?
