Always good to remind yourself where you are.
@SpockResists That is beautiful Spock.
@Exoticgamora πŸ––πŸ˜˜
@SpockResists Hope your day is bright, beautiful and happy 😊
@Exoticgamora The same to you my friend. Don’t forget the party tomorrow.
@SpockResists Is the party like our old Star Trek FBR parties πŸ₯³ πŸŽ‰? The same context? I want to be ready 😁🎁
@SpockResists Always good to find a little β€˜space’ for oneself.
@SpockResists *said in jest* are you doxxing me, my good Spock!?
@SpockResists extrapolated from a small piece of fairy cake.
@SpockResists perspective is everything isn’t it? πŸ‘πŸ»β€οΈ
@SpockResists every time I think about this, I get lost thinking about the beauty and violence in the universe. Such a massive place with so many unknown corners we might never see
@rlegg Exactly. Small insignificant beings in the vastness of the universe and beauty. It should humble every human being.
@SpockResists @rlegg I am to give us a little perspective on what goes on on our humble blue rock.
@SpockResists Yes. If more people truly understood this, I believe we’d all be much better off
@SpockResists thanks for the pictures, Mr Spock
@SpockResists Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at 900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
The sun that is the source of all our power.
Now the sun, and you and me, and all the stars that we can see,
Are moving at a million miles a day,
In the outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,
Of a galaxy we call the Milky Way.
@kyonshi @SpockResists Star Trek AND Monty Python, what can you ask more for? Great combination!

@kyonshi @SpockResists And now for something completely different!
@SpockResists indeed my friend!
@TrisResists @SpockResists I appreciate images which provide context about our place in the universe. My favorite is Powers of Tenβ„’ (1977) by Charles & Ray Eames of IBM.

@tanquist @TrisResists @SpockResists … amazing. First time I saw this concept presented this way. Our place in the universe is so hard to grasp, but when I try to feel myself in the vastness I’m transported to so many possible realities.
@SpockResists you the man really digging this post. Just when I was feeling I was so damn significant lol.
@SpockResists awesomeness β˜ΊοΈπŸ™
@SpockResists Lovely GIF Mr. Spock, just lovely.
@SpockResists That will be really useful to help us navigate back home, thanks!
@SpockResists This tour of the Milkyway definitely keeps things in perspective. I am not the center of the #universe , our #galaxy , or our #earth . I am the center of my #ego , my #consciousness , my #being ?
@SpockResists
This animation is far more cozy than our real position and proportion.
@SpockResists I also saw an animation on Twitter that showed the relative velocity of the bodies of the Solar System to the galactic core. We are all flying through space, the Earths path is a corkscrew not an ellipse. Only an ellipse relative to the Sun. Fascinating.
@SpockResists we forget all too often

@SpockResists makes you feel so insignificant really.

@SpockResists Just beautiful. Thanks!
@SpockResists I think the moon isn’t that close to Earth.
@dikfraser @SpockResists No, I'm certain this isn't to scale. Everything is way too big.
@SpockResists Wowsa………So beautiful!!!
@SpockResists I am living in the Laniakea Supercluster.
