For several reporters banned by Twitter, Mastodon is the only place to hear their stories.

#Journalists have helped make #Twitter the mess it is. Drawing in more users. Making it the main/only place to go. Then they gristle and whine when it does just what it wants. Trying to continue to do the harm they were doing.
They should recognise their mistake, and stop supporting Twitter, or any centralised network. Take followers somewhere that will not make sudden unpredictable changes. Learn why community run decentralised networks can't become monopolies. Quit Twitter now.

Ian, why are you here?
@_Bill_ @w7voa I joined Mastodon in 2017 to understand how people behave here and to support Mastodon. I did the same for many other decentralised networks. Never Facebook or Twitter naturally. I was able to warn people of the problems of centralised networks early on. Many people just want to grab some benefit to themselves not caring if they cause others problems. Many of these have recently 'followed the crowd' on to the fediverse, thinking it's just a another brand of the same thing.
