After dozens of copycat articles, hate mail and Twitter pile-ons, here's the Times, finally admitting that they got the story wrong. The original article has been quietly amended, and my letter is buried under a link, but here it is. Maybe those who were so quick to believe unfounded accusations will think twice before joining in next time...

The reporting on this has been appalling. This is justice of sorts, but inevitably the corrections don't get the traction the original story does. So sorry you've been put through this ... Sending love and hoping you and all your family have a peaceful Christmas x
