The result of this unscientific poll is interesting. Central Canada is under-represented on Mastodon in proportion to the whole Canadian population. Northern, Atlantic, and Western Canada are over-represented on Mastodon.
Percentage-wise, I had expected Central Canada to score much higher and every other regions of the country to score lower.

Why is that? No idea. But it is interesting nonetheless 🙂

@Manitobbes as a slight disclaimer I am in the uk until 29th then will be in Vancouver. So I already class myself as BC
@Manitobbes I could have responded "I don't live in Canada". My place in Alberta, given the sobering overtones of this Alberta Government, is merely an existence.
🌬️⛄
@gss @Manitobbes I will never consider myself Albertan first. I've lived in Winnipeg, Ottawa, and now Calgary. I'm Canadian (and British and Irish).

@tapforms @Manitobbes I'm a human. There is only one place I can exist, planet earth, I am symbiont.
When the rest of the humans understand they exist in the same state, maybe they will understand the need to protect the global environment and eliminate struggle.

That will not happen in my generation, or the next. Many sources of elitist values are polarizing our shared existence with misinformation and eliminating social values.

@Manitobbes reminder that 24M of Canada’s 39M people live in Ontario and Quebec. So if the poll looks lopsided… https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action?pid=1710000901

@Manitobbes Please know that Albertans can see your poll, but are unable to currently admit publicly where we are from.
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
@Manitobbes you didn’t have “sovereign Saskatchewan” so I chose western. /s
@Manitobbes I only just saw this, when deciding to go to some of the accounts I'm following and check their timelines. Too late for the survey, but this Westerner is glad to see how many responded at the time from our region of the country. That said, having grown up with a father who was an officer in the Air Force and thus living in many regions of Canada as a child, while proud to be Albertan, I also feel very Canadian overall.
@Manitobbes Doesn’t anybody live in the Prairie Provinces(Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba)? Only BC is the West!!!
@Manitobbes Atlantic here, but I didn’t see this in time to be able to vote.
