Where in the United States is rent the highest and where has it increased the most during the pandemic? Among the country's top 15 metro areas by population, San Francisco (surprise surprise) had the highest rent in 2021, with a median cost of more than $2,000 a month. But of these 15 metro areas, Atlanta has seen the biggest increase since the pre-COVID times, with the median rent rising 17% between 2019 and 2021.

@johngramlich America, land of the unaffordable. And it's only getting worse. Living in Denver, the rent here has gone to the moon. A decade ago I could rent a 2 or 3 bedroom house, a 1950s ranch style home, for between $795 - $995. Today it's north of $2,500 & often over $3,000 in average.
