@BlackAzizAnansi I'm so angry often about how much housing is treated like an investment instead of the point being somewhere for people to live, to make memories, to settle in and be happy. I don't care about people who invest in their own equity to eventually get themselves a nicer place, but I hate all the house flippers, the people who rent out 50+ houses and use disinterested awful management companies, etc. Ugh!
@Exploratorydruid @BlackAzizAnansi I kidsit a young one about 7 yrs old and where the mom lives had the neighboring attached building burn down. They have not had proper lighting on the stairwell for 11 months! How is that legal with Fire codes?

Just when I thought I have my financials down and able to start saving some money, the landlord who never work in her life, the place was given to her by her dad, raised my rent by $500!

Hedge funds and private equity are so awash in cash with nowhere to invest as the stock market is overpriced and bond yields low. So they went into real estate. Pisses me off. With the big corporations in real estate, gone are the various characters who were landlords and their humanity and pride in their job. Thankfully my current landlords, though bigger, still have a connection with people who are their clients. Private equity only ever sees a spreadsheet.
