Philip Zastrow

I have been so out of the loop on what @tapbots has been doing with Tweetbot because some years ago, Twitter made it hard to use third-party apps the way I needed.

So, @ivory is blowing my mind. I'm not sure exactly how much is carried over from its sibling app, but this is more than I could have hoped.

If Mastodon is like getting a glass of water in the desert, Ivory brought the ice cubes.

@tapbots @ivory @zastrow - I’m so jealous! I’ve used Tweetbot for years and am struggling with the mastodon apps. I tried getting into the beta, but missed out again. 😭

@hmig The Mastodon app scene is definitely in need of revival. With standards-based technology running it though, I think there’s an exciting future for Mastodon apps.

Earlier this evening I started trying out Metatext and have found that to be quite nice. The iPad version is working well on my Mac, too, and will probably my main way of using Mastodon until @ivory is available for Mac.

@zastrow - I know! Seems like forever ago. I’m doing ok. I miss seeing people IRL really badly, though. I need to hit a conference for some nerd time soon. Lol.

@hmig Doing well. I got to go to a conference last month for the first time in 3 years. It was exhausting, but I loved it. Got me thinking about speaking again.

@zastrow - it’s been more than 3 years for me now and I’m just itching to be around web people. I exclusively WFH now, so my circle of irl interaction is just my family.

Of course, I’ll probably make it to a conference and no one will talk to me because I’ve gone completely feral without realizing it. 😂

@ivory @zastrow - I’ve been using Metatext, but I find it to be very janky. Honestly, so frustrating to use on my iPhone.

@zastrow @tapbots @ivory Was just coming on here for the first time today to say I genuinely do not like the interface here at all. I’ve been using TweetBot over on the Bad Place for more than a decade. So seeing this gives me a bit more hope for here.

@zastrow @tapbots @ivory Tapbots apps have always been crème de la crème of iOS 👌. Honestly, without Tweetbot I doubt I would’ve used Twitter at all. I can see new Mastodon users having same experience with Ivory.
