Mark Zuckerberg considered saying in a 2017 speech that Facebook was looking into "organizations like Cambridge Analytica," according to details from a deposition of him by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Some years ago, before Twitter became the land of trolls and other lowlifes, some colleagues began studying what could be learned by aggregating social media activity of others who worked for the our company. The work had the blessing of our Chief Scientist.

They discovered it was possible to infer such intimate details as marital and financial difficulties of our fellows. It was so disturbing our Chief shut down the project.

Can #Mastodon can’t fall prey to this, too?
