Female students have now lost their access to universities in #Afghanistan until further notice, announces the #Taliban-run education ministry.
Suspending university education for women in Afghanistan condemned by the US and UK.
"The Taliban cannot expect to be a legitimate member of the
international community until they respect the rights of all Afghans, especially the human rights and fundamental freedom of women and girls," says Robert Wood, the US deputy ambassador to the UN.
@w7voa Great, then the US should begin to respect the fundamental rights of women and girls!
@w7voa counting down to some legislator in, say Alabama or Tennessee, that think the US should also ban women and girls from school.
@w7voa In my opinion, Western countries should offer asylum to Afghan women and girls simply on the basis of their being female.
@w7voa and who carees in Afghanistan what the US condemns? The whole Problems in Afghanistan are because of USA doing shit.
@w7voa As long as there are states in the United States where underaged girls may be married or women do not have full physical integrity, what’s the point of shaming?
@w7voa Can we get them to Khan academy?
@w7voa why are men across the world so afraid of educated women!?!
@missy_lynn Generalizing is not an appropriate way to express this. It should be directed to the men with inferiority, stupid religious beliefs, terrified of losing relevancy, uneducated, morons, and dim-witted. Good luck getting them to relinquish these fine attributes.

@w7voa Shame Afghanistan citizens apparently had no desire to elect leaders who would fight for a non-Taliban government, and had no desire to fight for a non-Taliban leadership itself. Whenever we see what the Taliban is doing in Afghanistan, we should remember it is a few hundred thousand people in a 40 million population country.

If Afghans wanted an independent country in the same way Ukraine does, the Taliban would have been crushed long ago. It appears more Afghans support the Taliban.

@Mastodan @w7voa let is not consider at all: voting repression, free speech repression, lack of education, men’s power grabbing etc.
@jimpalimpa If I recall, when the Americans were there, most of the voter repression was making sure the Taliban can't vote. I haven't seen any evidence that the "Westernized" Afghans were a majority of Afghans, or if they were willing to fight to control Afghanistan. I suspect, based on events, "westernized" Afghans are a pretty tiny minority of the 40 million or so Afghans.
@w7voa Subjugated women & girls are in my heart all day everyday❣️ Rise up & support them💟
@w7voa Education is the enemy of all totalitarian regimes but especially theocracies.
@w7voa
Real man don't fear women with an education.

@Iraj_Rajshahi @w7voa I was unaware about this in Bangladesh. Thought they were more evolved. Blaming women for problems seem to be international. Just so sad. Tnx for sharing the article.
@Mallulady @w7voa Unfortunately the ruling party is not elected and they have zero accountability to the women of Bangladesh. In addition, many government officials are womanizers and and they are involved in women violence. So, they have some kind of impunity.
@w7voa Oh boy! The trend towards oppressing women seem to permeate the globe.
