In fairness, there are also potential cultural and political ramifications of providing this ability, mostly as a result of the implied advocacy for content through liking and re-posting.

I'd say that making sure that we don't create issues by a bait and switch is more a human problem rather than a technical one.

@philhawksworth I'd say there's lots of clean solutions for that, e.g. wiping the likes, a short time limit, showing edit history, limiting the amount of character changes etc.

Twitter infra was built around the core assumption of tweets being immutable.
