New York Times on Dec 20, 1924. ~100 years before the next US presidential election. The story didn't even make the front page. Don't think #January6thCommittee is a reason for complacency.
@SocialistStan no way that guy could have retired peacefully. He was a mad man full of hate, that chose fear over acceptance. He wanted more power and control than any other person in the world, and knew how control people to achieve his goals. It's interesting how sheep like the masses are. We need better direction than we can get from faulted leaders who are only people like anyone else. We need a better philosophy from wiser people

@marklala The 'wiser people' would then become the next faulted leaders. We need to stop thinking one person is superior to another.

But yah, Hitler was never going to retire.

@SocialistStan @marklala cue the South Park “I can change” Hitler song.
@akimon @marklala Pretty sure that was Saddam Hussein, but same diff.
@SocialistStan @marklala yes, you are correct, it was Saddam. Hitler only got to sing a sad rendition of Tannenbaum. Both had equal chances of changing for the better, though
@SocialistStan danke for digging this up. Some things never change
@SocialistStan. Word to the wise.
Thanks for sharing
@SocialistStan lucky for us our Hitler is fat and old.
@SocialistStan there must be a German word for that ...
