@michael perfect timing on the weatherbot! 🎯

I’m old enough to remember getting stuck at work during Snowmaggedon back in 2016-ish, all previous years getting fuzzy

@bayport Glad that the bot is useful! And yeah, looking ahead to this week, we'll be needing it 🥶 ❄️

I realized after the fact that NWS truncates its own alert summaries. I'll re-work that a bit so it is more obvious if an alert is truncated, so that info is not missed.

@michael on a related note, longer term perhaps a bot that gives updates on Chattahoochee River flow levels would be cool, for like fishing, floating, recreation purposes.
Earlier this year I signed up for automated text msg from US Geological Service for stream gauges near my home for flood risk. I need to check for the Chatt and report back. I’m mainly writing this post as a note-to-self so that I remember because #ElephantsNeverForget

@bayport Love the idea! I took a look at the data available from #USGS, and that is definitely doable.

Also, your idea made me think that it's probably best to catalog and track ideas via GitHub, so that it's easier to ask questions, get feedback, etc..

I'm bookmarking your post for now, and will get back to you in a few days after I get the GitHub side of things going.
