Alright, before venturing into the shadows of #Dracula, I did a bit of research on its author, #BramStoker. I found some interesting facts that Iโ€™d like to share here and will be #tooting for the next hour.

If you like what Iโ€™m sharing, it would mean a lot if you could share/boost so more people may see it!

#BramStoker was born in Ireland on November 8th, 1847.

During his early childhood, he suffered of a severe paralysis that prevented him from walking until he was seven years old.

#BramStoker attended Trinity College in Dublin and graduated in math.

I found this very interesting because while nowadays fiction writers are commonly associated with degrees in arts and literature, in the past it was not necessarily so.

The following is, by far, my favourite #fact:

#BramStoker was seriously into #Occultism. Throughout his life he formed part of different Occultism circles, along with poet W.B. Yeats and no other than the infamous #AleisterCrowley .

In spite of the homoerotic themes portrayed in #Dracula, which led to rumors about his sexual preferences, #BramStoker was strongly against homosexuality.

In 1912 he went as far as saying that all homosexual writers in Britain should be imprisoned.

Last, but not least, #BramStoker died on April 20th, 1912. This was just six days after the #Titanic sank and the news about the shipwreck were still all over the newspapers. Thanks to this, his passing went practically unnoticed.

Andโ€ฆ this was everything I had for tonight!! Do you have any other interesting facts about #BramStoker or #Dracula ? Have you read the novel? Please share here!!

I hope you liked this information and if you followed the toots all the way to here, Iโ€™d appreciate a lot if youโ€™d boost or shared so more people can discuss this!
