@emptywheel Which is funny, because even though they did the right thing in that case, absolutely nobody on either side of the aisle actually LIKES Shirkey or Chatfield, because they're not good people. There's a few errors in the report. So far: the Oath Keepers in no way "led" the attack - most arrived 1.5 hours after the start. The fall of the W. Plaza is listed as 2:35 PM instead of 2:27, which matters a lot given signals.

Biggest issues are omissions. The first attacker were not incited by Trump's speech - they didn't even attend it. Fliers had for weeks announced a 1 PM start.

If he were truthful he would say he was looking into it in the hopes to find something Trump could use to nullify the election.
Barr left early because he saw what was going on in the WH and his employees at the DOJ and didn't want to be around when it hit the fan.
