Congress has never, in all of U.S. presidential history, referred an American president to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation and prosecution - until now.
@RepDonBeyer now let's hope their referral results in action.
@RepDonBeyer ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
@RepDonBeyer โ€œSets on foot!โ€ Itโ€™s like he went out of his way to violate the letter of 18 USC ยง2383 on purpose!
@RepDonBeyer Because Trump was, is and always will be a criminal. And #RepublicansKnew.
@RepDonBeyer shouldn't that be "former President"?
@RepDonBeyer
Anything less than locking him up along with all the other #Jan6 conspiracy planners will be insufficient.
@RepDonBeyer Congress has never had to deal with an insurrection before.
@francocaruso @RepDonBeyer Actually it did. They removed the representatives engaged in insurrection and responded to violence against the country with restraint until a federal location was violently attacked. That took 4 years to settle and 1/2 million dead
@Tonydunc @RepDonBeyer Interesting; I did not know that. Thanks for the history lesson.
@francocaruso @Tonydunc @RepDonBeyer
The other insurrection was known as the Civil War.
@RepDonBeyer but will it make a difference? Heโ€™s already running for President again. Iโ€™m so sick of political lip service.
@RepDonBeyer All I want for christmas is to see him do the perp walk in cuffs.

@RepDonBeyer

Trump deserves it--and to be tried and convicted for it.

Nixon should never have been pardoned by Ford. Ford put the Republican Party before the health of US democracy when he did that.

#RepublicanWeakness
#RepublicanTreason
#RepublicanFailures

@RepDonBeyer
Trump is an unprecedented president alright. No president before him has engaged in non stop crimes, sedition and treason (per stolen documents).
@RepDonBeyer seems pretty open and shut to me.
@RepDonBeyer Never have we had a FORMER president who was as corrupt and disrespectful of the people and country he served, the office of President, the Senate, and the House of Representatives as we had with the former guy.
@RepDonBeyer
What is so wild is that so many presidents have committed crimes here and there. The US voting population is forgiving to ex-presidents. Congress even more so. So forgiving. Forgiving when it seemed wrong, but maybe best for the country. But the crimes here, from this ex-president, are so extreme, so multitude and extensive, so violent and directed toward destroying the democratic nation as such, forgiveness became unthinkable.
@RepDonBeyer Never had a president that tried to overthrow the government before.
