@omniumgatherum corporate capture and unrepresentative systems (electoral college, gerrymandering, congress insider trading, unlimited corporate money in politics vs finite citizen influence, UK first past the post) are driving a return of fascism - when people feel they have no say and the deck is stacked against them.
@atacamacactus Not sure those are _the_ driver (because does that come before or after fascism gains power? I feel like there's a bit of both in there.) but there's definitely correlation, and suspect that the capture and unrepresentative systems contribute more to power staying in power once it is gained than in the rise of grasping at power in the first place; if fascism is about power for power's sake, then perhaps; but it's overall a bigger tangle than just that, I suspect.
@omniumgatherum fair point, I was being too simplistic - was simply trying to list more explicit factors than 'neoliberal capitalism' - which is quite abstract
