It’s all come to this moment: The Jan. 6 Committee will hold its final day of hearings today and will make criminal referrals to the Department of Justice on three charges against former president Donald Trump. What should we make of this referral, and how good a case do they make?
Check out today’s piece for my summary and analysis. https://statuskuo.substack.com/p/the-final-action-by-the-january-6?sd=pf
The Final Action by the January 6 Committee Is Its Most Consequential

Eighteen months of investigations. Over 1000 witness transcripts. A series of explosive and gripping public hearings throughout the summer and fall of 2022. A voluminous and exhaustive final report. And now, at long last, a formal vote to refer criminal charges against former president Donald Trump to the Department of Justice, as well as possible other charges against his key cohorts, including John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani, and Mark Meadows.

Oh,mighty cheers for the heads up.

Can't do you tube and mastodon on one app so maybe I'll bounce between foe a bit.

Curious to see how this goes down over in USA x

@mojosue @jaykuo yw. all major networks are covering it.

@SaintEddie @jaykuo

Why can't I do everything all at once?

@mojosue @jaykuo idk. you tell me. it’s not difficult.

@SaintEddie @jaykuo

Need the Pod Save America link, they must be covering it.

@jaykuo I imagine they will make a solid case.
@jaykuo I hope it doesn't end up being a huge waste of time. I am literally amazed at how little authority our government actually has.
@jaykuo Bennie just sais criminal referrals will follow shortly after.
@jaykuo The problem is that too many people self-identify with the criminal, making it difficult to convict.
@jaykuo hah first the midterms, then dumped by the Murdochverse, now this. Tomorrow they’ll announce they ran out of orange hairspray. I almost feel sorry for VSG but only a little. And then I get right back to gloating.
@jaykuo unfortunately, I don't think anyone will come of it. Not that nothing should, because by God there damn well should be, but because there are only a minority of people who believe in doing the right thing. And those people are leaving in a few weeks.

@jaykuo

if anything they should be banning Trump from running in the 2024 federal US election because of this exact reason… He is the reason why that insurrection took place in the first place, and all of these January 6 deniers are completely brainwashed to think that Trump is a hero when he’s not. The 2020 Election was fair and square.

@jaykuo How old is Trump now? Move even more slowly so that you can then pardon him based on his old age.

And then the historians will look back on what a life he had: a series of failed businesses, tax issues, presidency and what not.

Yet another inspiration for politicians and the filthy rich that they can do any kind of bumpuck and get way :)

@jaykuo oh this reminds me, I need to finish filling out my paperwork to get my passport out of here before the criminal becomes dictator in 2024.

@jaykuo Well Tomorrow won't be a good day for Trump either. The House Ways and Means Committee votes tomorrow on whether or not to release Trump's Tax Returns to the public.

Its as if he is Scrooge and several Ghosts of Christmas Past keep coming to visit him.

@jaykuo four charges as of 1:30 PM MST
@jaykuo A bit prolix, but I agree.
@jaykuo The day he gets thrown in prison will be a day of much rejoicing for those of us who are still in touch with reality.
@jaykuo thankfully Leavenworth is ready and waiting
