Morning everyone. Today's QOTD is a hypothetical inspired by @SinisterBulb . This is my town. Imagine you had to commute 2hrs a day in this. What is your ideal commuter car?

To make it a little more difficult, let's say you work at one of our many big oil and gas firms so an EV is not an option.

@Basmitharts @SinisterBulb I would get a different job or work from home.
@SinisterBulb @Mark @Basmitharts Yeah, this is the kind of situation that makes people hate cars and driving. Yet for many it’s reality.
@julkinen @SinisterBulb @Mark @Basmitharts yeah it's very much my reality, often 200 miles/day around the M25/south east of england. Hate job, hate driving, but 'get a different job' easier said than done with ££££ cost of living and other personal circumstances.
@artisanloaf @julkinen @SinisterBulb @Basmitharts I bought a house within walking distance to a train. I expected to be working in NYC but the work from home revolution happened. I quit my job three years ago and have been running an internet business from home since then. Ive had long transit and bike commutes but won’t put up with a long car commute.
@Mark @julkinen @SinisterBulb @Basmitharts I was told many years ago about how 'practical skills are always in demand' ... 'learn a trade you'll never be out of work' ... had my own biz for over 10 yr, just gets harder and more expensive, same labour rates today as then,, as i get less employable in a normal 'wfh/office' job... should have played the game and gone corporate instead of listening to that nonsense.
@Mark @julkinen @SinisterBulb @Basmitharts it is true that 'practical skills' are always in demand... but who earns enough money to pay for those with practical skills, equipment, certifications/licences, insurance? people who've never touched a spanner or screwdriver in their lives.
