Think he’ll actually step down now as Twitter’s CEO? I actually think so, but only because he’s miserable trying to do that job and failing so badly at it.

@georgetakei Would it matter, though, since he still owns it all with no board?

Wouldn’t he just install a sycophant as the public face, but continue to have all of the control behind the scenes to direct everything as he desires?

(love your work and social causes, BTW — thank you for your contributions to the world!)

@marcoarment @georgetakei It seems like he might just wave some shiny keys to try distracting everyone.

We all say it can’t get much worse, but just wait until the My Pillow guy is the new CEO.

@marcoarment @georgetakei

exactly. if Musk remains the owner and gets someone competent to do his bidding twitter will just be competently evil as opposed to incompetently evil as it is right now.

@marcoarment @georgetakei I don’t know anything behind the scenes but this feels to me like tesla shareholders forcing his hand. Elon has made a habit out of launching twitter polls for things he’s already made a decision on: selling 10% of tesla stock, reinstating trump, etc. That said, I have no confidence a new CEO would be anything but a stooge.
@marcoarment @georgetakei Or maybe he's just looking for an out.
@pvanb @marcoarment @georgetakei He won’t be ā€œoutā€ until he’s no longer the owner.
@marcoarment @georgetakei I sure wish he would’ve opted for the 1B penalty for backing out of the purchase deal to begin with
@buck @marcoarment @georgetakei I suspect he feels the same by now.
@marcoarment @georgetakei that is exactly what he would do. He has lost all credibility.

@marcoarment @georgetakei I don’t understand this, as he’s already on record saying that he plans to step down after a few months anyway.
