@zadrozny Either the GOP did not vet him at all or they did vet him and none of these things were issues for them. The press (including the New York Times, who is a day late and a dollar short with this info) failed to inform the public on the candidate. And Democrats somehow either missed this stuff or failed to trumpet it loudly before the election. Maybe voters did know this info but (like with Trump) they didn't care about the lying and the racism. How did everyone fail so badly here?

The craziest thing about that article (and by extension Santos himself) is how you think you've read the most egregious thing he lied about and then it doubles down, and then doubles down again. He's like the Talented Mr Ripley (though hopefully without the murder).
